Welcome to Portman Source
Israeli-born American actress Natalie Portman is one of today's leading young talents in Hollywood. Her film credits include the
Star Wars prequel trilogy,
Garden State,
V for Vendetta and
The Professional, as well as portraying the seemingly vulnerable stripper Alice in Mike Nichols' drama
Closer, for which she won a Golden Globe as well as an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. Aside from her critically acclaimed film work, the 26-year-old Harvard graduate has recently joined the promotional campaign for FINCA Microfinance, of which you can find details at
www.villagebanking.org.
You are currently viewing a temporary version of Portman Source, which aims at becoming one of the most extensive up-to-date online sources on this gifted actress. We are currently working behind the scenes to bring you a dedicated and comprehensive Natalie Portman fansource, and our gallery already boasts over
40,000 photos, making it the largest Natalie Portman gallery online. Do check back regularly for updates and the full version of the site, which will be launched some time this winter!

We still have a ton of public appearance photos of recent years (and particularly last month’s Oscars!) to sort through and add to the site, hence the lack of updates. Please be patient with as we currently have other projects to tend to as well.
Meanwhile, Natalie Portman was photographed yesterday, March 5 2009 at ‘A Powerful Noise’ Live in New York, NY. The gallery has been updated with our first 26 136 medium- and hi-res photos of Natalie at the event; hopefully, we’ll have more photos and additional information soon. Check back with us for updates!

Things are a bit slow with Natalie today, so I thought I’d update with this nice little mention award-winning French actress Marion Cotillard makes of Natalie’s vegan shoe collection for Té Casan in the September/October 2008 issue of French magazine Néoplanète. From Magnifique Marion Cotillard:
Actress Natalie Portman worked with eco-chic shoe brand Té Casan, 100% vegetal and guaranted without animal material. Could you, in the future, work with an eco brand?
That’s not a priority. But I admire Natalie’s commitment a lot. If I had to do something remarkable for the planet, I’d buy fields where are grown OMG (transgenic plants). Once bought, I’d redistribute them to farmers who would commit themselves to grow in danger local vegetables!

Another two Natalie Portman presidential election PSAs have surfaced online, in which she encourages viewers to exercise their power and vote in the upcoming U.S. presidential election. The PSAs were shot while Natalie was visiting her grandmother in Cincinnati, OH. In the first PSA, Natalie discusses the importance of voting early, of which you can find more information at www.voteforchange.com, while the second PSA concerns who gets her vote, i.e. Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama. Check them out!
In other news, Just Jared reports Natalie was recently back in Paris to shoot a perfume commercial. We have no further details on this yet, but we’ll keep you posted, as always.

Several news sources are reporting Natalie will be holding a speech tomorrow at a Barack Obama presidential campaign rally in Toledo, Ohio. Hopefully, we’ll have photos from the event soon (especially since we didn’t get any of her appearance at the Los Angeles Obama fundraiser some days back)! From Cleveland.com:
Barack Obama’s presidential campaign is getting some help in the Toledo area this weekend from Star Wars‘ Queen Amidala. Actress Natalie Portman is scheduled to speak tomorrow morning at an Obama rally at Lourdes College in suburban Sylvania.
Update Oct 11: I’ve received word from Eric, a local in Sylvania, that this event has unfortunately been cancelled. Sorry, guys!

Ahoy, Los Angeles fans of Natalie! Tomorrow, Natalie Portman will be joining Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton and Eric Garcetti, President of the Los Angeles City Council to advocate Democratic Presidential candidate Barack Obama as the most environmentally friendly choice for President. From Ecorazzi.com:
Tomorrow afternoon, Natalie Portman will join Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton and Eric Garcetti (President of the Los Angeles City Council) in addressing a large celebrity crowd gathered to support Barack Obama as the best Presidential candidate for the environment.
Called “ANGELENOS GO GREEN FOR OBAMA”, the event will be the first major political fundraiser to be both zero-waste and carbon neutral. Green highlights include fully compostable platware and flatware, organic food and drink served by top LA chefs, and a local offsetting of CO2 emissions through organizations such as TreePeople and The Climate Registry.
Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora are listed to perform. Tickets are available from AngelenosGoGreenforObama.org.
Naturally, we’ll keep you posted if any photos or other material surface from the event!
