The time is nearing for Natalie’s Project Runway appearance later today, in a special “green” episode of the popular fashion designer reality series, and a whole bunch of websites already have a first look at a lovely Natalie on the show.

First off, some photos. I’ve added one promotional photo and a handful of medium-res preview screen captures of Natalie’s guest appearance on the show, during which she wore a beautiful, green strapless mini with a simple ponytail-do — once again, Nat pulls off a stunning, classy and classic look. I’m sure we won’t be disappointed in her judging input, either! Stay tuned for more.

Furthermore, some video previews of Natalie’s appearance have surfaced online. Access Hollywood has a look at this week’s Project Runway episode which includes some footage of Natalie entering the series’ famous runway, much to the contestants’ surprise and delight. Bravo.tv also has a preview of the episode, with slightly more footage of Natalie than the former. Judging by the footage, Nat seemed very excited to be part of the show!

It’s good to finally have some proper news on Natalie, isn’t it? It’s been awful quiet since May.

Anyway, here’s today’s update. Starting off with a Project Runway reminder. Natalie will be a guest judge in episode 5.02 of the show, a special “green” episode apty titled “Grass Is Always Greener”. The episode will air today at 9-10 PM ET/PT pm Bravo — check your local listings. Don’t forget to visit Portman Source for coverage!

We also finally have some medium-res screen captures of Natalie as Princess Carmensita Saplingita in Devendra Banhart’s positively hilarous, Bollywood-inspired music video for “Carmensita”, from Banhart’s latest album, Smokey Rolls Down Thunder Canyon. Non-U.S. residents who’ve once again been snubbed of viewing the video will find it available for viewing on YouTube. Go check it out while you can!

Finally, some news! The music video for Devendra Banhart’s quite evidently Bollywood-inspired “Carmensita”, featuring Natalie in an absolutely hilarious cameo appearance, has finally premiered online, and is available for viewing at Spinner.com. Do check it out (if you can — non-US residents will have to bitterly bite their tongue for the moment), Natalie is absolutely priceless and looks like she had a ton of fun filming it. In other news, according to the Project Runway official site, Natalie will “guest judge” in the green, second episode of Season 5, which airs on Wednesday July 23 2008 (that’s tomorrow!) at 9-10 PM ET/PT on Bravo — check your local listings. Episode 2: Grass Is Always Greener
The designers are forced to think green in the second episode of Project Runway — with the help of their trusted model. Guest Judge: Natalie Portman.

I’ve recently noticed that photos originating from Portman Source are being reposted at other websites without the slightest of mention of the site. While a little reposting is fine by me (after all, the site is here to share, no?), I do find it increasingly disheartening to see hoards of material — literally hundreds of photos — from our imagery being continuously spread to or at other sources, material I work hard to obtain exclusively for Portman Source. In view of the fact that, unlike many other fan sites today, I leave the majority of photos untagged and do not nitpick about the occasional reposts, I don’t see why allowing Portman Source a taste of appreciation for work well done should be so much to ask.

Thus, I kindly ask you to please credit Portman Source for reposted material, and ask you not to redistribute our original scans or screen captures to or at other websites, whether they be dedicated to Natalie or not. Thank you.

I’ve been meaning to upload these for a while now, but haven’t really gotten to it. I’ve just added 6 hi-res scans of Natalie’s feature in the June 2008 issue of Finnish Elle. The inside photos are not new, the cover shot on the other hand, is. My apologies again for the delay in updates, we experienced some technical difficulties for a while there. Lucky for us (?), there hasn’t really been any news on Natalie of late, so we haven’t really missed anything.

At any rate, I do have something to update with today. I’ve just uploaded roughly 1700 medium-res screen captures of Natalie as Anne Boleyn in Justin Chadwick’s period drama The Other Boleyn Girl; DVD-quality caps will be added as soon as possible. While I confess I didn’t like the movie itself, Natalie was her usual splendid self, with her performance being one of the highlights of the film.
