My apologies again for the delay in updates, we experienced some technical difficulties for a while there. Lucky for us (?), there hasn’t really been any news on Natalie of late, so we haven’t really missed anything.

At any rate, I do have something to update with today. I’ve just uploaded roughly 1700 medium-res screen captures of Natalie as Anne Boleyn in Justin Chadwick’s period drama The Other Boleyn Girl; DVD-quality caps will be added as soon as possible. While I confess I didn’t like the movie itself, Natalie was her usual splendid self, with her performance being one of the highlights of the film. One day late, but better late than never, eh? (I knew I should’ve gone online yesterday! I just knew it.) We here at Portman Source would like to wish Natalie Portman a happy 27th birthday on June 9 2008! Congratulations, Nat! We think you’re fab.

This is interesting news. According to AFP, Natalie is currently in Rwanda shooting a clip “to promote a Jewish-funded youth village for children orphaned by the 1994 genocide.”

Israeli-American actress Natalie Portman is in Rwanda shooting a clip to promote a Jewish-funded youth village for children orphaned by the 1994 genocide, officials said. “The American film star is currently in Rwanda shooting a film on the genocide,” an official close to the ministry of culture told AFP on condition of anonymity.

The young Hollywood star arrived quietly in the genocide-scarred central African country earlier this week. Israeli media has reported that the clip she is shooting about the new village will be aired in a few weeks on the Oprah Winfrey Show, America’s best-rated television programme.

As most of you will already know, the 2008 Cannes Film Festival wrapped up on May 25; hopefully, for my sake, this update will wrap up the photo coverage, which has been quite extensive throughout the festival. At any rate, the 2008 Cannes Film Festival is finally over, as the festival closing ceremony was held yesterday — but the media coverage isn’t. On May 19, Natalie attended the Cannes Film Festival premiere of Le Silence de Lorna, looking absolutely amazing, as usual, while yesterday she was spotted at the festival premiere of Che, as gorgeous as ever. 100+ medium- and hi-res photos of Nat at the events have been added to the gallery, alongside some other Cannes hi-res photo additions. Finally, a proper update on the recent big photo additions at the gallery. As most of you will already know, Natalie has been granted the honor of juror at the ongoing 2008 Cannes Film Festival, and we here at Portman Source are, of course, doing our best at keeping up with the photo flow. Nat was last seen on May 18 at the festival premiere of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull looking as classy and glamorous as ever, and tons of medium and hi-res photos of her on the red carpet have been added to the gallery.

The third big batch of medium- and hi-res photos of Natalie’s festival opening day appearances has also been uploaded to the gallery, which you’ll hopefully enjoy browsing through. We have at least one more big photo batch coming up, so stay tuned. A huge thank you for the medium-res footage goes to my good friend Filip of Cameron Fan. Personally, I couldn’t be more excited about Natalie’s festival style if I tried. I am particularly in love with Nat’s opening ceremony look, which to me is flawless, right down to the beautifully done hair. Stylewise, Natalie never disappoints.
